The Catholic Association of Poona (CAP) is affiliated to the All India Catholic Union of India (AICU) which has its jurisdiction spread over the Diocese of Poona.

CAP is a non-political organization under the patronage of the Bishop of Poona. This organization started functioning in 1955 and was officially inducted as an association at the EGM on 15/7/1956. CAP presently has 1800 members.

Mission: “Protect and Defend human rights of all Communities”. The main aim of CAP is to foster national unity and solidarity among Catholics, spread Catholic ideas and ideals in matters concerning social justice and rights, secure religious liberties and fundamental rights embodied in the Constitution, refute attacks on Christian doctrine and morals, mobilize public opinion against theories and practices which are morally offensive to Christian principles and co-operate with other organizations to promote common goals. Building a stronger and vibrant church in Poona.

Activities: Seminars to raise awareness and educate people on their civic and social rights and responsibilities. Blood donation drives, issue of senior citizen cards.

Meetings: 2nd Sunday of every month at 11:00 am at The Community Center, City Church, Quarter Gate, Pune 411 002
